Sexual positions that could help you get pregnant

There are some sexual positions that may make conception more probable. The key idea is using gravity in your favour, so that when your partner ejaculates, his semen has the best opportunity to reach your cervix.

Missionary position

• The very best of the conception positions is the classic missionary position.
• This 'man-on-top' position works with gravity to encourage semen flow toward the uterus.

Rear-entry position

• Another good conception position is rear-entry, more commonly referred to as 'doggy-style'.
• This position allows your partner to deposit semen close to your cervix.

The side-by-side position or ‘spoons’

• Again, this loving position allows your partner's sperm to start their journey as near to your cervix as possible.

The natural help of gravity

For all three of the conception positions mentioned, try remaining on your back after ejaculation with your legs bent for a few minutes to further maximise semen flow toward the uterus.
