Baby books

It’s a good idea to invest in some reference books aimed specifically at a father’s unique role and relationship with their growing baby. Here’s a selection of some of the best:

  • Fathering Right From The Start: Straight Talk about Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond - by J. Heinowitz and W. Horn (New World Library 2001)

This book is an emotional resource for men as they embrace fatherhood, encouraging men to break out of the reserved stereotype and to be expressive with their family. It includes stories, checklists and exercises.

  • A Dad’s Guide To The First Year - by Armin Brott

Should you start saving for university years now? Can I really spend quality time with my child when I work all day? This book answers these and other questions dads want to ask about raising a new baby.

  • The Father’s Almanac - by S. Adams Sullivan

This classic has recently been updated to include more of the information new dads need. As the title implies, it’s organised in almanac format, with indexed information right at your fingertips.

  • Baby Tips for Dads - by Simon Brett

  • Between You and Me…Dad - by Babies Island

Your choice for every stage of growth.
